Encargo, autoría y ejecución de La familia de Felipe V (Palacio Real de La Granja), copia del original de Louis-Michel van Loo

Abstract

Este artículo aporta nuevos datos acerca de La familia de Felipe V del Palacio Real de La Granja de San Ildefonso (Segovia), copia del original realizado en 1743 por Louis-Michel van Loo. Certifica su ejecución a mediados del siglo XIX por el pintor Isidoro Lozano (Logroño, 1826-Madrid, 1895), en el marco de la promoción artística del joven discípulo de Federico de Madrazo que culminará con la obtención en 1853 del premio de Roma; y documenta su traslado a La Granja el 23 de julio de 1852 enrollado en un furgón de las Reales Caballerizas, dirigiendo las labores de desembalaje, preparación y colocación del gran lienzo familiar Severiano Marín, segundo restaurador del Real Museo de Pinturas.

This paper provides new data about The Family of Philip V of the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso (Segovia), a copy of the original painted in 1743 by LouisMichel van Loo. It extends the information about its execution in the middle of the 19th century by the painter Isidoro Lozano (Logroño, 1826-Madrid, 1895), in the context of the artistic promotion of the young disciple of Federico de Madrazo, who was awarded the Rome Prize in 1853; and documents its transfer to La Granja on July 23, 1852, rolled up in a carriage of the Royal Stables, under the supervision of Severiano Marín who held the position of Second Restorer of the Royal Museum of Paintings and was responsible for the unpacking, preparation and placement of the great family canvas.
