La teología de la mediación de Cristo en las obras sistemáticas de san Buenaventura

Abstract

The present study aims at presenting the general forms and contents of the theology of mediation in Saint Bonaventure of Bagnoregio (1217-1274). This research attempts to show the strict connection between Bonaventure's theory of Christological mediation and his Trinitarian formulation. Christology in general and theology of mediation in particular are based on the original character of the Seraphic Doctor’s doctrine of God. Only from this perspective can one properly evaluate the real scope and sense of Franciscan Christocentrism, the best example of which can be found in Bonaventure. On this basis, the other dimensions of Bonaventure's theory of mediation are studied. They are linked with a crucial concept in his theology, namely, the concept of <i>reductio</i>, in its double orientation: salvific and epistemological.

El objeto de este estudio es la doctrina de la mediación universal de Cristo en las obras sistemáticas de San Buenaventura. Por ello dejamos deliberadamente de lado la vasta producción homilética del Santo, que, sin duda, merece una atención separada y detallada. Tampoco vamos a entrar en la cuestión de la formación histórica de la teoría bonaventuriana de la mediación. Nuestro intento es presentar una visión sintética general de su concepción. Dadas las limitaciones de un artículo de este tipo lo único que podemos intentar es realizar un esbozo de la problemática, tan vasta y rica en sí misma, que plantea la idea de la mediación en San Buenaventura.
