La responsabilidad social de la propiedad

Abstract

During the last centuries the so called ‘social function of property’ has lost relevance in private, social and economic ethics, turning into a set of practical actions oriented to objectives of equality and social harmony. This means that an important dimension of the social institution of property has been lost. This article attempts a parallelism between Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Responsibility of Property in order to understand the changes that the concept of private property has undergone along the years, which consequences this has had on the understanding of its social responsibility and how could it be defined today.

La función social de la propiedad ha ido perdiendo relieve en la ética privada, social y económica, hasta convertirse en un conjunto de actuaciones del Estado orientadas a un objetivo de igualdad económica y de concordia social. Con ello se ha perdido una dimensión importante de la institución social de la propiedad. En este trabajo se intenta un paralelismo entre la Responsabilidad Social de la Empresa y la Responsabilidad Social de la Propiedad, a fin de entender los cambios que el concepto de propiedad privada ha experimentado a lo largo del tiempo, cómo ha repercutido esto en la manera de entender su responsabilidad social y cómo se podría definir esta hoy en día.
