Culto, autoridad y tradición. La comunidad judía de Elefantina y la religiosidad vinculada a su templo

Abstract

The archaeological and historical sciences offer sufficient information to date the Old Testament biblical texts, as they crystallized and reached us, in the last years of Persian domination of the <i>Fertile Crescent</i>. The study of the information offered by the documents found in Elephantine suggests a pre-biblical Judaism not based on a system of sacred texts until some advanced time in the fourth century BCE. This data may surprise readers as does the existence of a Jewish temple in the southern Egypt in the fifth century BCE.

La ciencia arqueológica e histórica ofrece datos suficientes para situar a los textos bíblicos del Antiguo Testamento, tal como cristalizaron y han llegado a nosotros, en los últimos años del periodo persa de dominación del <i>creciente fértil</i>. El estudio de los datos ofrecidos por los documentos encontrados en Elefantina hace pensar en un judaísmo prebíblico no basado en un sistema de textos sagrados hasta algún momento avanzado ya el s. IV a.C. Este dato puede sorprender igual que sorprende conocer la existencia de un templo judío en el sur de Egipto durante el s. V a.C.
