Abstract

This text is an introduction to the analysis of the limits and scope of a redefinition of human nature, in the context of the contemporary discussion on the relevance of this notion. The above, as an element of critical discussion on the transhumanist proposal of human enhancement through the use of emerging biotechnologies to improve the physical and mental capacities of the human being.

El presente texto realiza un acercamiento introductorio a los límites y alcances del concepto de naturaleza humana y sus intentos de redefinición conceptual, en el contexto de la discusión contemporánea sobre su pertinencia. Ello como un elemento de valoración critica con ocasión de la propuesta transhumanista de mejora humana mediante el uso de las biotecnologias emergentes para la potenciación de nuestras capacidades físicas, mentales y conductuales.
