Estudio histórico-teológico sobre la recepción sacramental de la eucaristía. Las disposiciones para comulgar debidamente

Abstract

Esta tesis desarrolla un estudio históricoteológico de los diversos aspectos doctrinales y pastorales de la recepción sacramental de la Eucaristía, teniendo en cuenta las debidas disposiciones y condiciones establecidas por la Iglesia por las que, impulsados por el Espíritu Santo, nos preparamos convenientemente para recibir este santo sacramento. El estudio histórico-teológico tiene como ejes fundamentales los testimonios de la Escritura, de la patrística, las intervenciones del Magisterio de la Iglesia y las aportaciones de algunos teólogos como Pedro Lombardo, santo Tomás de Aquino y Juan Duns Escoto, que presentan una aproximación equilibrada entre las condiciones y la frecuencia de la recepción eucarística sacramental, que es uno de los elementos cruciales de la presente investigación. Estos elementos están plasmados en los tres capítulos que estructuran la tesis. El primero está dedicado a la época apostólica y patrística. El segundo abarca el Medievo y la Modernidad. El último capítulo aborda la recepción eucarística sacramental en los tiempos actuales. El recorrido sobre estas etapas históricas muestra que el problema de la comunión frecuente, uno de los aspectos más relevantes de la historia de la recepción del sacramento eucarístico, se resuelve en la medida que haya una relación armoniosa y equilibrada entre la frecuencia de la recepción de la santa comunión y las disposiciones necesarias para recibirla digna y fructuosamente. De ahí la importancia de que esta relación armoniosa sea parte de la catequesis, de la predicación y de la preparación de cada comulgante.

The present dissertation develops a historical- theological study of the various doctrinal and pastoral aspects of the sacramental reception of the Holy Eucharist, taking into account the due provisions and conditions established by the Church by which, driven by the Holy Spirit, we prepare ourselves conveniently to receive this holy sacrament. The historical-theological study has as fundamental axes: the testimonies of the Scripture, the Church Fatners, the interventions of the Magisterium of the Church and the contributions of some theologians such as Peter Lombard, St. Thomas Aquinas and John Duns Scotus, who present a balanced approach between the conditions and the frequency of the sacramental Eucharistic reception, which is one of the crucial elements of this research. These elements are embodied in the three chapters that structure the thesis. The first chapter is dedicated to the apostolic and patristic epoch. The second one covers the Middle Ages and the Modernity. The last chapter deals with the sacramental Eucharistic reception in present times. The journey on these historical stages shows that the problem of frequent communion, one of the most relevant aspects of the history of the reception of the Eucharistic sacrament, is resolved to the extent that there is a harmonious and balanced relationship between the frequency of the reception of holy communion and the provisions necessary to receive it in a dignified and fruitful way. Hence the importance of this harmonious relationship being part of the catechesis, preaching and preparation of each communicant.
