En torno a los límites de la sintaxis y el discurso: una reflexión sobre el adverbio «naturalmente»

Abstract

In this work I will review some morphological and syntactic properties of <em>naturalmente </em>to link them to the discursive interpretation of this adverb in specific contexts. My main objective is to explain the relevance of the discursive and configurational aspects. I will take into account the presence of the speaker in the structure (Speas/Tenny 2003; Wiltschko/Heim 2014; 2016; Pancheva/Zubizarreta 2019, among others), and the relationships between sentences in the discourse. My thesis is that the adverb reinforces the speaker’s affirmative point of view and can be used as a «natural » justification for his/her pretended reasoning. This interpretation is possible by the properties of the adjective and the structural configuration.

En este trabajo revisaré algunas propiedades morfológicas y sintácticas de <em>naturalmente </em>para relacionarlas con la interpretación discursiva de este adverbio en contextos concretos. Mi objetivo principal consiste en delimitar la relevancia de los aspectos discursivos y configuracionales en las lecturas que presentan este adverbio. Para ello tendré en cuenta la presencia del hablante y su proyección en la estructura (Speas/Tenny 2003; Wiltschko/Heim 2014; 2016; Pancheva/Zubizarreta 2019, entre otros), así como las relaciones entre oraciones en el nivel del discurso. Mi tesis consiste en que el adverbio <em>naturalmente </em>refuerza la opinión afirmativa del hablante ante lo que manifiesta y sirve como justificación «natural» de su razonamiento fingido. Esta interpretación es posible gracias a las propiedades de la base adjetiva junto con la configuración con la que se vincula <em>naturalmente</em>.
