Ética como sociabilidad. Bubber, Marcel y Levinas
    (2005) Riva, F. (Franco)
Levinas considers Buber and Marcel “two great minds”. Their philosophy of dialogue is not exhortation, because it expresses the new ethic of proximity of man to man. No more experience of others, but original and irreducible sociality, beyond any theory. The incarnation and the metaproblematic in Marcel, in particular, mean to Levinas the overcoming of the self towards the others. Thus the being in Marcel is not the same as the traditional ontology (the totality), but it is the new rationality of infinity: the self awaked by the “thou”.

Espiritualismo y bergsonismo en Marcel: Interiorización y libertad
    (2005) Ríos-Vicente, J. (Jesús)
This paper shows how Bergsonism influences Marcel or, in other words, the manner in which Bergson’s Spiritualism is present in Marcel. A second part of the essay depicts how freedom is a consequence of the “interiorization” required by Spiritualism (this freedom does not surpass “the state of nature” or pilgrim state). Therefore, in this perspective, it is necessary a moment of “illumination” in order to restore “the state of grace” in which freedom will be complete by means of “participation”.

Gabriel Marcel y el misterio del sufrimiento
    (2005) Plourde, S. (Simonne)
This article offers an examination of the mystery of suffering in Gabriel Marcel’s works. It will be shown that a suffering ethics can be found in his philosophy: the suffering presents itself as an ordeal that we must overcome to save our being.

(Luis Manuel)
The intention of this paper is crossed by a double view. First, reread from an existential point of view, some considerations about corporeality and intersubjectivity, as studied by G. Marcel, and second, reflect, from a phenomenological approach, projections and relationships between these intuitions and the world of biology, and specifically, cognitive science.

    (2005) Conesa-Lareo, M.D. (María Dolores)
Trying to recapture the sense of human condition, Marcel and Levinas propose two ways which are apparently similar but different in ground. Marcel interprets intersubjectivity as a getting together that transcends the objectifiying representation, while remaining at the ontological domain, as a co-esse. Levinas proposes an intersubjectivity that lies outside the limits of being, replacing the ontology with an ethics that acts as the new source of sense.

    (2005) Belay, M. (Marcel)
The article focuses on one of the central themes of Gabriel Marcel’s thought: the afterlife and the presence of the dead. Marcel approaches such a “mystery” through his plays, one of the most important aspects of his thought.

La filosofía itinerante de Gabriel Marcel
    (2005) Tilliette, X. (Xavier)
The article presents the philosophy of a wandering thinker who is in search of truth, of knowledge of reality. It shows the life, method, goal and central issues (existence, being, intersubjectivity and immortality) of this walker in a constant pilgrimage to light.

    (2005) Poma, I. (Iolanda)
The intrinsic dialectic in Gabriel Marcel’s thought seems to be describable in terms of alteration and doubling. That dialectic arises from the experience of wonder and of emotion; it articulates itself within a doubled consciousness which is both exclamative and interrogative. This consciouness perpetuates the original moment of alteration and doubling in the pairs characterizing Marcel’s speculative proposal: being-having, mystery-problem, transcendence-immanence, infinite-finite.

    (2005) López-Quintás, A. (Alfonso)
The autor offers several keys to interpret the philosophy of G. Marcel and to internalize it in creative manner. Such keys are: “the different modes of reality”, and “the aesthetic experiences of declamation of a poem and interpretation of a musical work”. They enable us to clarify marcelian themes such as “the ontological demand”, “the union of participation”, “the relation of presence”, “the second reflection”…
