Una crítica del problema mente-cuerpo en la tradición analítica
    (2007) Balaban, O. (Obed)
Everybody knows, by experience, that the mind can "determine" the body to motion and rest. However, nobody knows how this phenomenon is possible. This ignorance is a consequence of the limitations of our categories of thought. The awareness of our ignorance will lead to understand why we are unable to fathom the link between body and mind.

Rigorismo y pluralidad de principios en ética
    (2007) Salerno, G. (Gustavo)
The problem of the applicability of moral principles is one of the most significant issues of practical reflection. With Kant's practical philosophy, the ethical demands of universality and individuality came to seem incompatible. After reviewing the outlooks of Apel and Simmel, who both offer paradigmatic answers to the “rigorism” of the categorical imperative, this article presents the issue from the perspective of Maliandi's “Convergent Ethics”. It suggests that Maliandi's recognition of an “a priori of conflictivity” and of the bi-dimensional character of reason surmounts the shortages of both Apel's and Simmel's philosophies.

Juicio, ley y aplicación en Kant. Un problema central de La crítica de la facultad de juzgar
    (2007) Molina, E.A. (Eduardo A.)
In this article I study Kant's doctrine of the power of judgement (aesthetic and theological). I focus on its main function of rendering possible the transition from the lawfulness of nature to the realization of practical ends. In order to do so, I analyze the concept of “spontaneity” and the principle of “purposiveness of nature”, understood as a “principle of contingency”, according to Kant's explanation in the Critique of the Power of Judgement.

La polémica epistolar entre Schelling y Eschenmayer
    (2007) Augusto, R. (Roberto)
This article discusses the controversy between Schelling and Eschenmayer regarding the Freiheitsschrift of 1809. Eschenmayer, a follower of the ideas of Jacobi, accuses Schelling of degrading God in applying to Him human concepts. Schelling, on the contrary, thinks that the faith needs the understanding.

La influencia sobre Wittgenstein de la obra de Weininger Über Die Letzten Dinge
    (2007) Ariso, J.M. (José María)
After making reference to the socio-cultural context of fin-de-siècle Vienna —in which Otto Weininiger’s work appears— I describe in this paper the main characteristics of the influence that Weininger’s Über die letzten Dinge had on Ludwig Wittgenstein. I deal specifically with the way Wittgenstein’s work reflects Weininger’s remarks on criminality, animality, and madness.

    Ética socrática y moral cristiana
    (2007) Polo-Barrena, L. (Leonardo)
This article compares certain aspects of Socratic ethics and of Christian morality. It stresses what Christian morality adds to Socratic ethics on the basis of Revelation, and surveys certain versions of Christian ethics which its author considers to be misguiding. In particular, the author notes defects in Luther’s, Kant’s and Fenelon’s ethical views, and in certain other views which stand in clear opposition to Christian ethics, such ad that of Nietzsche and other postmodern authors.

Religión, razón y convivencia. Entrevista a Rémi Brague
    (2007) Murillo, J.I. (José Ignacio)
Prof. Brague explores in this interview the usefulness of the study of Medieval thought in order to understand the problems of our time. He reflects on the different approaches to reason, politics and religion in Islam and Christianity, and the problems which derivate from the radical modern separation between society and religion. Is it correct to ascribe the casuse of social conflicts to religion or to a strong rationality? Is it possible in the long run to build a society without any religion? Why is the notion of natural law controversial in modern times? And what is the relation between natural law and the law of God, as proposed by certain religions?
