- Aproximación historiográfica a la restauración patrimonial de carácter historicista en España: desde sus albores a la actualidad(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2020) López-Merino, G.L. (Guillermo L.)The article aims at a historiographic approach to the history of heritage restoration from its origins to the present day, with a special emphasis on the «historical fake», through literature review and analysis of different case studies. The concept emerged in Europe in the middle of the 20th century, but its appearance in the practical field dates to the first romantic restorations. «Unity of style» and its struggle against the anti–restorative posture will mark the nineteenth century until the new century brings the triumph of the conservative tendency, nuanced in the following by several authors until reaching an aesthetic–historical balance. The Spanish panorama follows this evolution until the Franco dictatorship imposes again the historicist values, a position that will begin to change at the dawn of democracy. Despite this theoretical advance, the current situation is dominated by disparate criteria that cause a heterogeneous restorative landscape.
- Dos nuevos instrumentos de medida romanos hallados en Fresno Alhándiga (Salamanca)(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2019) Pérez-de-Dios, V. (Verónica); de-Soto-García, M.R. (María de los Reyes)Those societies where goods are exchanged, as it was the case of the Roman world, tend to develop measure devices. In this ar ticle, we introduce two measure elements from Roman chronology which were discovered in a rural site called, Los Villares (Fresno Alhándiga), in the province of Salamanca. The discovery of this type of material is highly relevant as it is remakably scarce in this province and there are no similar pieces up to now. Both the lanx and the aequipodium presented in this work point to quotidian market contacts and the survival of the provision routes in the province of Salamanca as far as the late–ancient times.
- El anillo ecuestre áureo de Molata de Casa Vieja, Almaciles (Puebla de Don Fadrique, Granada)(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2019) Fernández-Tristante, R. (Rubén); Martínez-Chico, D. (David)We here document an Iberian gold ring, which we have recently been able to study. It was found at some time between the late 1960s and mid-1980s, near Molata de Casa Vieja, one of the most important oppida in Alta Andalucía. The engraved bezel is of a schematic style, and derives from the iconic Iberian rider, ubiquitous on the pre–Roman coinage. It adds a new representation to this already rich corpus. The image of the rider was frequently used by the Iberian elite between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. The ring is now par t of the collection of the Archaeological Museum of Murcia.
- Las termas públicas romanas de "Valeria" (Cuenca): estudio descriptivo y conclusiones preliminares de los hallazgos escultóricos marmóreos en la campaña de 2018(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2019) Atienza-Fuente, J. (Javier)The Valerian thermal complex, the largest in extension of the province of Cuenca (Spain), was ostentatiously decorated with elaborate mosaics in floors and walls and marble revetments made with materials from almost the entire Mediterranean arch. In a building of these characteristics it was frequent to accompany and complete the ornamentation of pavements and walls with other decorative elements such as sculptures. The work presented here reflects the sculptural findings occurred during the campaign of archaeological excavation carried out in 2018 in some of the rooms of public baths of the Hispano–Roman city of Valeria.
- El dilema de Paramio(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2019) Gómez-Pantoja, J. (Joaquín)This note deals with a Latin epigraph from Paramio, in Zamora province, Spain. Due to its geographical location, the area belonged to the conventus Asturum. The inscription deserves commenting for its onomastic and formulae and because it has a non easy–to–discern purpose.
- Le monete delle colonie latine di "Hatria" e "Firmum Picenum": quadro storico e catalogazione(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2019) Mandatori, G. (Gianluca)The coinages of Latin colonies, due to their marginal character, have often been considered subsidiaries or imitational of the Roman issues, if not even a sign of a fault in Roman control. A better assessment of these perspectives is offered by the analysis of two case-coinages, those of Hatria and Firmum Picenum: this paper presents the catalogue and analysis of the coins issued by these colonies in the years immediately following their deduction, examined within a broad historical and archaeological context. For the colonies in Picenum, as for other Latin colonial communities, coins were both an economic and a cultural phenomenon, and their accurate study contributes to a better reconstruction of the political and social structures of the communities by which the coins were produced.
- Epigrafía litúrgica hispana: oraciones medievales escritas en libros de piedra(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2019) Gómez-Jiménez, S. (Silvia)Epigraphy is a reliable sample of the culture which it belongs to, because it allows us to study the social relations between the conserved text and the epoch which it is inser ted in. The two Hispanic inscriptions that we are going to analyze are dated in the period of the Late Middle Ages, in a purely Christian context. They recognize prayers that are significant in relation to the situation which they are located in, the Lisbon Cathedral, as they are used regularly within the Hispanic monastic office, also taking into account the peculiarity that its stone support simulates a prayer book. Until now, both inscriptions have been studied from the epigraphic point of view, but in no case has its liturgical character been analyzed. This is the work that is carried out: after making an epigraphic comment, we will focus on the study of them in relation to the place where they are located and the analysis of their liturgical text with its handwritten diffusion and its use within the ecclesiastical rite.

(Helena)This paper intends to approach a study about the phenomenon of diffusion of the bull´s image in the provincial coinage fabricated during the period of government of Tiberius in the Ebro valley region. To achieve this objective we present a detailed analysis about the material and iconographic aspects of the image, attempting to determinate its operation within a process of emblematic propaganda in the area.
- Monedas de la ceca de "Malaca" procedentes de Suel (Fuengirola, Málaga)(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2019) Carcedo-Rozada, M. (Marcelino); Martín-Ruiz, J.A. (Juan Antonio); García-Carretero, J.R. (Juan Ramón)We analyse the coins minted in the ancient Phoenician colony of Malaca and discovered in the city of Suel, which can be located in the Cerro del Castillo of the Malaga town of Fuengirola. With a chronology including the last decades of the 3rd century until the final years of the 1st century BC, this set consists of 66 coins, most of them unpublished, which include the totality of Malaca emissions, as well as all the denominations coined in this city. We can also add to them another eight coins from different sites of its ager, one of them not published until now. This study allows us to verify that these findings follow the general tone established for this mint not only in Malaca itself but also within other settlements, thus contributing to increase the volume of coins from the Malaca mint known up to now.
