- Teleological markers: Seven lines of hypotheses around Dennett’s theory of habits(Universidad Nicolás Copérnico de Torun, 2014) Echarte-Alonso, L.E. (Luis Enrique)Neuroscientists frequently use two folk psychology terms –self and consciousness– in formulating decision-making process models. According to Daniel Dennett, such notions lead them to dualistic view of brain functions and hence to dead ends or, at least, to less than optimal designs in the research field. Indeed, Dennett’s position offers interesting insights that may help neuroscientists to comprehend the distinction between conscious and non-conscious behavior. In this paper, I first explore how habitual behavior could be defined from Dennett’s model. Second, taking his view into account, I try to offer a better interpretation of habits. Particularly, I define habits as involving a teleological and preconscious process whose traits and dynamics are indistinguishable from computational ones, but this is so more in their ends than in their origins. Finally, I propose seven lines of experimental hypothesis to support this definition.
(María Jesús); Murillo, M. (M.); Vitas, A.I. (Ana Isabel); Irache, J.M. (Juan Manuel)Drugs inside a conventional galenic form are distributed between specific biological targets and other anatomical tissues. With the aim to obtain a more rational and a better therapeutic, one of the most promising possibilities by using the concept of vector- ization: association of an active principle to an appropriate vector with the object to increase its action efficiency and efficacy. By this means, they do not just increase the affinity of the drug to the target but also active principle gets protected from a potentially hos- tile environment (hydrolytic enzymes, acid pH, etc.). The success in the extension of the applications of the vectorización depends more and more of an appropriate design, for what the fundamental objective of this revision will be the one of presenting the general char- acteristics and some of the current applications in these new galenic forms.
(Luis Enrique)In this paper I study the problem of unconscious ends, firstly, comparing three alternative physicalist views expressed in the systems of Nicolai Hartmann, Daniel Dennett and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. Via this comparison, I show how the phenomenological perspective of the first author brings out the deficits of Dennett’s eliminativism and Teilhard’s panpsychism. Secondly, however, I criticize Hartmann’s thesis that ends are inaccessible events to objective knowledge, using certain arguments from Elizabeth Anscombe and Anthony Kenny.

------------------------Together with the increase of condom use, the spread of sexually transmitted infections, earlier ages of sexual debut and pregnancies in teenagers are also increasing. Sexual education in schools plays an important role. It is therefore important, from a public health point of view, to develop materials with contents that can help students acquire the life skills that will enable them to make free and informed decisions concerning sexuality. In this study the results of a comparative evaluation of different school texts with an alternative we have elaborated for the area of sexuality and human reproduction are presented. The extent to which these books achieve official educational objectives, promote healthy life styles and convey information enabling the prevention of risky sexual behaviours was evaluated.
