The Phoenix myth, with its continuous metamorphosis among flames, becomes a characteristic symbol of Baroque culture as we observe in many circumstances of Quevedo’s poetry and prose. Above all, the romance entitled «The Phoenix» (numbered 700 in Blecua’s edition) is relevant and forms a small satirical burlesque bestiary along with three poems dedicated to similarly fabulous animals. The present exposition tries to show the relations between «La Fénix» and different literary genres: mythological large poems, Petrarquist love poetry and the enigma. | es_ES |
