- Uno de cuatro, cuatro y no uno. El Diatésaron de Taciano y el Evangelio cuadriforme(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2020) Pereira-Delgado, A. (Álvaro)The early Church recognized the truth of the Gospel in four different texts (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and not in certain unifying works that arose in the second century: the choice of Marcion for a single Gospel or Tatian’s Diatessaron (one Gospel «through four»). This study analyzes the factors that motivated this tendency to unify the evangelical traditions, with special emphasis on Diatessaron, and the criticisms that led to the eradication of its reading in the liturgy. We conclude with a reflection on the theological implications that emerge from this canonical discernment: how does having to read the one Gospel of Christ from four different texts affect Christian revelation?
- Cuando crecer salva. Sentido salvífico del crecimiento de la humanidad de Jesús: Una perspectiva Ireneana(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2020) Ruiz-Aragoneses, R. (Rosa)We will explore human growth as a key theological category of St. Irenaeus in Adversus Haereses IV 38,1-4. From there, and as a consequence of the true Incarnation, we will discover the centrality of growth in the humanity of Jesus and the salvific meaning that it necessarily acquires in coherence with the Irenean thought. Such growth places in the foreground the action of the Holy Spirit and the human openness to grow accompanied by the Word.
- Acedia y vacío existencial: Evagrio Póntico y Viktor E. Frankl en diálogo(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2020) García-Alandete, J. (Joaquín)This work analyzes the similarities and divergences between acedia, as approached by Evagrio Ponticus (345-399), and noogenic neurosis, as addressed by the Viennese psychiatrist Viktor Emil Frankl (1905-1997). Both acedia and noogenic neurosis describe a negative cognitive, emotional, and motivational state characterized by existential discontent, a flight from reality and search for new sensations, sadness, hopelessness, and, ultimately, even suicide. Acedia and noogenic neurosis are briefly described. Then, their similarities and differences are analyzed and discussed, focusing on their possible therapeutic influence. The work ends with some reflections on the acedia in contemporary society.

- El fundamento cristológico del sacerdocio ministerial(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Navarra, 2020) Ponce, M. (Miguel)The post-Vatican II popes have emphasized the need to deepen the true identity of the priest, as the only way to solve today’s crisis of the priesthood. This identity comes from the priest’s constitutive relationship with Christ. This present study aims to analyze the many aspects of this relationship, taking into account that Christ is not only the temporary origin, but also the permanent foundation of the ministerial priesthood. Thus, the presbyter is described as a symbolicsacramental presence of Christ Head and Shepherd of the Church.
