La fuerza del testimonio cristiano

Abstract

Este estudio consta de dos partes. En la primera se analiza el testimonio desde la Escritura, los Padres, el Concilio Vaticano II y algunos documentos postconciliares (el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, la exhortación Novo millennio ineunte, de Juan Pablo II, y la encíclica Deus caritas est, de Benedicto XVI). La segunda parte presenta la reflexión contemporánea sobre el testimonio, trazando un mapa de cuestiones. Comenzando por el testimonio como dimensión de la teología misma, se alude luego a las relaciones entre fe, testimonio y experiencia, al testimonio de Cristo y la existencia cristiana, y, finalmente al lugar del testimonio en relación con la Iglesia, la transmisión de la fe, el culto y la caridad.

This study has two parts. The first one analyses testimony from the point of view of Scripture, the Fathers, the Second Vatican Council and some post-conciliar documents (the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the encyclical Novo millennio ineunte, by John Paul III and the encyclical Deus caritas est, by Benedict XVI). The second part presents a contemporary reflection on testimony, outlining a series of themes. Starting with testimony as a dimension of theology itself, this paper then looks as the relations between faith, testimony and experience, the testimony of Christ and Christian experience, and, finally the place for testimony in relation with the Church, the transmission of faith, worship and charity.
